About us

The Immanuel Congregational Church (ICC) is a constituent church of the United Congregational Church of Southern Africa (UCCSA). The UCCSA is a united church across five countries in Southern Africa, namely Botswana, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa and Zimbabwe. The ICC is located in Eersterust, Pretoria and is part of the Central Regional Council - the latter being part of the UCCSA Synod South Africa.

In line with the Congregational theology and ethos, the ICC subscribes to the covenant basis of relationship with its sister churches both within the SA Synod and within the four other Synods. Also, in line with all other Congregationalists, the ICC holds no other confession, except that Jesus Christ is Lord of the Church and the World.

The church is currently served, as full-time minister, by the Rev Dr D.P. van der Water, who commenced pastoral duties with the congregation on the 1st October 2012. At the heart of its life, work and witness is the ICC's commitment to being guided by the Holy Spirit and being discipled in the Word of God.
